The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; Y our rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. -2 Corinthians 5:1

My Journey’s Just Begun…. Don't think of me as gone away, my journey's just begun. Life holds so many facets, this earth is but one. Just think of me as resting from the sorrows and the tears. Just think of me in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think of how I must be wishing that you could know today how nothing but your sadness can really go away. Think of me as living in the hearts of those I touched for nothing loved is ever lost and rest assure I know how much I was loved so much.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of Brother Hoover Johnson, Sr. Bro. Hoover Johnson, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021. I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit,

that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. Rev. 14:13.

It is therefore with tremendous sadness that we acknowledge the transition of Reverend William B. Amaker into eternal rest. Pastor William B. Amaker was the Sr. Pastor of Wateree Church of God, Eastover South Carolina and a former member of the South Carolina State Presbytery Trustee board. Pastor William B. Amaker, 80, of Santee, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg. Friends may express condolences to his wife, Cora Amaker, 6549 Five Chop Road, Santee,; his daughter, Stacy Amaker at 803-662-3209; or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory. Please adhere to COVID-19 precautions.  May the grace and peace of God rest upon the Amaker family and members of Wateree Church of God. Online condolences may be sent simmonsfuneralhome.com.

Gone, But Not Forgotten

Don’t think of Pastor William Amaker as gone away for his journey’s just begun,

Life holds so many facets this earth is only one.

Just think of Pastor William Amaker as resting from the sorrows and the tears

In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days any years.

Think how Pastor William Amaker must be wishing that we could know today

How nothing but our sadness can really pass away.

And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched

For nothing loved is ever lost and Pastor William B. Amaker was loved very much.

Respectfully,

Rev. David Quick, SC State Chairman

Former Pastor, Elder Charles Makins

Good afternoon Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.            - 2 Corinthians 5:1

It is with heavy hearts but joy that we announce the transition of our dear brother and former pastor, Charles Makins. Elder Makins, a leader among our clergy in the Church of God reformation movement has served in many various capacities across the state of South Carolina. His legacy of Bible knowledge, wisdom, and leadership shall not be forgotten. His desire to reach his eternal home in heaven is represented in his life and ministry. His earthly tent maybe dissolved, but we thank God for lending him to us for a season.

Please continue to pray for his family, church family, and friends during this time of bereavement.

All Brotherhood members in attendance, please wear your brotherhood pin in honor of our dear brother. Also, we the Brotherhood are requested to take part in service by singing. Please govern yourselves accordingly and be prepared to take part.
